Homemade Guacamole

Serving size: 4

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium sized Hass avocados, small diced

  • 1 cup of tomatoes, diced (about 2 medium size)

  • 1 cup red onion (1 medium sized), small diced

  • 2 jalapeño peppers, small diced

  • 1⁄4 cup fresh lime juice (2 limes)

  • 1⁄4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

  • 1/8 teaspoon of kosher salt, to taste

  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • Tostadas or whole grain chips for dipping (optional)

  • Red chili pepper flakes or a pinch of chili powder, to taste (optional)

Equipment:

  • Mixing bowl

  • Large wooden spoon or potato masher

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, scoop out avocados and place in bowl, set aside pits.

  2. Small dice tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño peppers and place all ingredients in bowl.

  3. Freshly squeeze lime juice over mixture.

  4. To taste, add salt and pepper.

  5. Mix together with spoon or masher until desired consistency.

  6. Garnish with cilantro.

  7. Serve immediately with chips and enjoy!

  8. If needing to set aside, please place back pits in the middle of the mixture.
